1. Purpose
These Terms of Service (“TOS”) govern access to and use of Crandoro, a social network dedicated to local and global news. The Publisher is Johan C., a natural person (see the legal notice).
2. Minimum age
Access is restricted to users aged 15+. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement.
3. Accounts
A single set of sign-in credentials (e-mail address and password) can open several separate public accounts, up to the limit attached to your plan. Each account has its own public name. Actions (posting, following, reacting, etc.) are performed on behalf of the selected account and bind the holder of the credentials, whichever account is used.
4. Account & security
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
- For security and abuse prevention, Crandoro may use technical mechanisms (e.g., pseudonymized browser fingerprinting, local signatures) described in the “Privacy” tab.
- In case of suspected abuse (spam, harassment, fraudulent multi-accounts), Crandoro may apply verification steps and/or temporarily restrict access.
5. User content: ownership & license
You keep ownership of what you post. To operate the service (hosting, displaying, distributing within Crandoro), you grant Crandoro a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license for the duration your content is available on Crandoro, to store, reproduce and display it within the service.
You represent that you have the rights needed to publish your content.
6. Prohibited content & conduct
In particular, you must not:
- Harass, threaten, post hate speech, discrimination, or incite violence.
- Post illegal content (CSAM, crime glorification, etc.).
- Doxx, impersonate, or violate privacy.
- Spam, abuse automation, bypass API limits.
- Infringe third-party rights (copyright, trademarks, image rights).
7. Automation: RSS & API
- RSS: an account may declare several feeds, each subject to validation of the domain concerned, which you must own or manage. The service then generates one post per feed item, carrying the link provided by that feed and a badge showing its origin. You remain responsible for each declared feed and for the rights attached to its content.
- Post length: the text of any post, whatever its origin, is limited to a maximum length set by the service, beyond which it is truncated.
- API: subject to rate limits and anti-spam rules. Abuse may result in token revocation and/or suspension.
8. Outbound links
Crandoro encourages outbound links to original sources. Crandoro is not responsible for third-party websites.
9. AI content
System accounts publish short, automatically generated news summaries. These summaries always cite the sources they were written from. They are provided for information purposes only, may contain errors, and are not advice: the cited sources remain authoritative.
10. Reporting, moderation & sanctions (DSA)
- Reporting: a reporting tool is available to notify potentially illegal content or rule violations.
- Handling: Crandoro reviews reports and may take action (hide, remove, restrict).
- Sanctions: warning, suspension of an account (account remains visible with “suspended” status; content hidden), API access revocation, or ban (removal of all accounts tied to the same credentials).
- Appeals: you can appeal via the contact form.
11. Availability & liability
Crandoro is provided “as is”. Service interruptions may occur. To the extent permitted by law, Crandoro is not liable for indirect damages, nor for content posted by users or third parties.
12. Termination
You can delete your account. After deletion, data becomes non-public; a secure archive may be kept for a legal period (see “Privacy”).
13. Changes to the TOS
Crandoro may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated on the website.
14. Crandoro applications (Android, iOS, Windows)
In addition to web access, Crandoro is offered as an application. These Terms apply in full to use of those applications, in addition to the rules of the relevant distribution platform where one applies.
- Platform terms: where you install the app from an app store, your use is also subject to that store's terms. In case of conflict, the Crandoro-specific rules above prevail with respect to user content and moderation.
- Updates: the app may auto-update. Some security or compliance changes may require installing the latest version.
- Reporting and blocking: each post screen exposes reporting tools and account hide or block controls, in line with DSA obligations and the rules applicable to user-generated content.
- In-app account deletion: the "Account management" screen lets you delete an account directly from the device, without going through the website.
- Crash reporting and product analytics: the app transmits anonymous technical information to processors for bug fixing and product usage measurement. No personally identifying data is transmitted. Details are in the "Privacy" tab.
- Unofficial channels: Crandoro does not endorse or support builds obtained outside the official channels indicated by Crandoro.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first through the Contact page. Failing that, the competent court is the court of Grenoble.
This designation does not affect mandatory consumer protection rules: if you are acting as a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings before the court of your place of residence, or any other court having jurisdiction under applicable law.
